This study was conducted to determine the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) actions and Corporate Competences (CCs),with Socially Responsible Consumption, based on Consumers’ Willingness to Pay (WTP) for coffee. An experimental study from the Discrete Choice Method (DCM) was designed and implemented, for which 132 coffee consumers in Bogota, Colombia, were interviewed, including men and women age 20 years and older. The study found that there is a positive relationship between CSR and the purchasing behavior of the consumers within the sample. The study also found a higher incidence of CSR in the purchasing behavior when compared with CCs. In this sense, CSR is an important factor that influences the purchasing decisions of the consumers and that creates added value for them; this could be reflected in more profits for businesses. For the statistical analysis, the significance level observed for all variables of CSR and CCs was 99 percent, except for leadership in the sector. This study is based on the doctoral thesis of Professor Percy Samoel Marquina Feldman, titled La influencia de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial en el comportamiento de compra de los consumidores peruanos (CENTRUM, Business Center of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2009).Professor Feldman’s doctoral thesis was updated and was applied to the coffee market in Bogota.
