This research addressed the issue of debris flow modeling in Pedregal Creek with FLO-2D software. The modeling results were used to evaluate 5 solution scenarios with alternative structural measures to mitigate the damage caused mainly in the lower zone of the creek. In our country, one of the natural phenomena that has caused great losses after floods has been the mudslides. These are hydrogeological phenomena that occur in ravines during periods of high rainfall and consist of mud and rock flows whose transport and accumulation along the course of the ravine can cause damage to the population exposed along its course. The purpose of this research is to contribute to the study of mud and debris flows in our country by means of the study of a model that represents the behavior of this flow along the Pedregal stream bed; considering the criteria for the selection of input data for the model such as topography of the terrain, geometry of the stream, roughness values of the stream bed, liquid and solid hydrographs, rainfall and rheological properties of the flow. s a result, a model calibrated with the flood event of March 9, 1987 was obtained, taking as data the maximum recorded rainfall of 50.00 mm at the Autisha meteorological station. The Synthetic Storm Hydrograph designed by the Soil Conservation Service SCS was used, using the hypothetical storm type I, with a CN value of 78, initial abstraction of 14.30mm, an infiltration percentage of 75%, obtaining a flow rate of 24.20 m3/s for the entire basin. Twelve simulations have been executed in Flo 2D in order to calibrate the model in the scenario of the event occurred on March 9, 1989, by means of the modeling the height of the tie rods in the 3 control points located in the coordinates for the control point N°1; X=314600. 45, Y=8680180.67, control point N°2; X=314625.81, Y=8680361.67, control point N°3; X=314602.42, Y=8681432.59. to be compared with the heights of the flood marks or tracks identified in the field. It was identified that the sample with the Glenwood 4 debris flow type obtained flooding stringer heights of 1.48m, 1.44m, 5.32m at control points N°1, 2 and 3° respectively. These heights were contrasted with those identified in the field of 1.55m, 1.60m and 5.10m, which are quite acceptable given the current conditions and limitations. With the calibrated debris flow parameters, 5 alternative scenarios of proposed structural measures were modeled to represent the behavior of debris flow along the entire watershed. Scenario I: no structural measures-base (existing soil channelization), Scenario II: retention measures in the transport channel zone in sub-basin A of the stream. Scenario III: retention measures in the transport channel zone in sub-basin B of the stream. Scenario IV: retention measures in the transport channel zone in sub-basin A and B of the stream. Scenario V: retention measures in the transport channel zone in sub-basin A, B, C and in the stream's discharge cone. As a result, in Scenario V, the flood heights at the assigned control points N°1, N°2 and N°3 reduced their flooding currents as follows: at control point N°1 from 1.48 m to 0.51 m (0.97 m less, which represents a 65.50% difference with respect to the calibrated scenario), at control point N°2 from 1.44 m to 0.38 m (1.06 m less, which represents a 73% difference with respect to the calibrated scenario), at control point N°2 from 1.44 m to 0.38 m (1.06 m less, which represents a 73% difference with respect to the calibrated scenario). 06 m less which represents a 73.61% difference with respect to the calibrated scenario) and at control point N°3 from 5.32 m to 2.93 m (2.39 m less which represents a 44.92% difference with respect to the calibrated scenario). In the modeling it can be seen how the flood spots in the creek's dejection cone also had a reduction.
