Abstract: La presente investigación se limita al océano Pacífico Sudeste que abarca las zonas costeras y aguas jurisdiccionales de cinco países: Panamá, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Chile, que comprende desde los 9° de latitud norte en el suroeste de América Central hasta los 57° de latitud sur en el extremo sur de América del Sur, la longitud total es de unos 14.000 kilómetros. Teniendo como objetivo general la identificación de cuáles serían los intereses geopolíticos que el Perú tendría en el océano Pacífico Sudeste, para el cual se identificó la realidad problemática actual para posterior revisar los antecedentes internacionales y nacionales que se relacionen con las categorías de estudio de la presente investigación. El Estudio tiene un enfoque metodológico cualitativo, de tipo fenomenológico, no considera una población de estudio, por el contrario, abarca una muestra integrada por especialistas en la materia y documentos relacionados. Se concluye que los intereses geopolíticos del Perú en el océano Pacífico Sudeste, como resultado del análisis realizado en utilización de los instrumentos de recolección de datos revelan la importancia de considerar distintos aspectos, desde la proyección internacional para establecer su presencia e influencia, la explotación sostenible de recursos, la protección de la seguridad y defensa de sus fronteras marítimas, hasta la cooperación regional para el desarrollo de su política exterior y marítima del país.
This research is limited to the Southeast Pacific Ocean, which covers the coastal areas and jurisdictional waters of five countries: Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and Chile, which ranges from 9° north latitude in the southwest of Central America to 57° south latitude at the southern tip of South America, the total length is about 14,000 kilometers. Having as a general objective the identification of what would be the geopolitical interests that Perú would have in the Southeast Pacific Ocean, for which the current problematic reality was identified to later review the international and national antecedents that are related to the study categories of the present investigation. The Study has a qualitative methodological approach, of a phenomenological type, it does not consider a study population, on the contrary, it covers a sample made up of specialists in the subjects and related documents. It is concluded that the geopolitical interests of Perú in the Southeast Pacific Ocean, as a result of the analysis carried out using data collection instruments, reveal the importance of considering different aspects, from the international projection to establish its presence and influence, sustainable exploitation of resources, the protection of the security and defense of its maritime borders, to regional cooperation for the development of its foreign and maritime policy of the country.
