The present research addresses the challenge of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the context of national maritime policy, focusing on formulating strategies to tackle this issue during the period 2025-2030. IUU fishing has been identified as a significant threat to the sustainability of marine resources, food security, and the conservation of marine biodiversity, underscoring the importance of developing effective strategies to combat this practice. The key findings of this research emphasize the need to strengthen the capacity of the Maritime Authority to detect, prevent, and suppress illegal fishing in national waters, as well as the importance of promoting national and international cooperation to address this problem. The relevance of implementing advanced technologies, enhancing training for regulatory enforcement personnel, and raising public awareness of the importance of combating illegal fishing is highlighted. Additionally, the importance of aligning the proposed strategies with the priority objectives of the national maritime policy is emphasized to ensure their contribution to the achievement of these objectives. Regarding the methods and approaches used, the research was based on a comprehensive documentary analysis and interviews with experts and relevant stakeholders in the maritime sector. Qualitative data collection techniques were employed, allowing for a profound understanding of the opinions and perspectives of the interviewed experts. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of international instruments and internal regulations related to IUU fishing was conducted, providing a solid foundation for the design of effective strategies. Finally, this research provides a comprehensive insight into the issue of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and proposes specific recommendations to strengthen the Maritime Authority's strategy for the fulfillment of priority objectives of the National Maritime Policy. The importance of addressing this problem from multiple perspectives, integrating advanced technologies, international collaboration, legal reinforcement, education and awareness, and improvements in the operational capacity of the Maritime Authority is highlighted.
