The objective of this research, of qualitative approach, was to develop guidelines as part of a National Maritime Policy to 2030, oriented to strengthen national maritime awareness and to promote the maritime identity. In order to collect information of professional interest based on experience, opinions and argued points of view, useful for the corresponding analysis, interviews with a pre-established structure questionnaire were addressed to experienced experts and professionals on research as part of a data collection technique. Likewise, a document information analysis related to research was performed in order to obtain important data and to compare them to the information acquired from the above-mentioned interviews carried out to experts and professionals. In conclusion, as a result of this research and according to experts and professionals it is determined that without a National Maritime Policy a national maritime awareness and maritime identity within Peruvian population could not be strengthened. Likewise, as a result of this research, the guidelines suggested would strengthen national maritime awareness and promote maritime identity.
