Amphibious operations throughout history have made it possible to project military capabilities in different areas. The characteristics of permanence, flexibility, and versatility accompany the detailed planning to consolidate positions and obtain the necessary communication lines for military operations and actions. That is why the Peruvian Navy, through its “Long Term Plan”, considers it essential to establish policies and objectives that lead to permissive and hostile scenarios to provide the necessary material and human resources to contribute to the original role of guaranteeing independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. In this sense, the Marine Amphibious Brigade establishes the projection of the Logistics Battalion in the medium term, to sustain and provide the support and supply required in the complexity of operations launched from the sea. The knowledge that involves military logistics, the advances and evolutions in technology, and the management of human talent, create gaps that translate into friction in the proper conduct of the employment of this type of unit. The objective of the study is to determine the actions that will incorporate the professional competencies of the Marine Officers, who will be part of the crews of the Logistics Battalion of the Amphibious Brigade. This objective is bifurcated into determining the current situation regarding the development of this type of competencies and their identification; as well as, studying how favorable its incorporation in the Peruvian Navy is. The results of the research obtained from the theoretical study and the fieldwork resulting from the interviews with experts, present the need to incorporate new skills and knowledge that involve the logistics launched from the sea, denominated in this study “Amphibious Logistics”, and its assessment regarding limited institutional human resources and current operational commitments. In this sense, the results found are supported by the use of continuous education and its application in a staggered manner during the junior and senior officer’s period through the incorporation of four professional competencies identified in the study and denominated “Logistics for Amphibious Units” (LAU), which is based on three pillars: organization of assigned resources, an adequate professional profile based on competencies and exploitation of opportunities through institutional agreements. It is resulting in its favorable incorporation to generate optimal professional performance.
