Creencias sobre el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en el nivel inicial en padres de familia de una institución educativa privada

Abstract

La presente investigación está orientada a profundizar en las creencias que tienen los padres de familia acerca del aprendizaje del idioma inglés en el nivel inicial. El estudio que es de tipo básico, de nivel descriptivo y enfoque cuantitativo, se trabajó con una muestra de 30 padres de familia cuyos hijos asisten a una institución educativa particular del distrito de Ate – Vitarte. El instrumento que se empleó para la medición de la variable fue una adaptación del Inventario BALLI (Beliefs About Language Learning) que fue debidamente validado a través de un juicio de expertos y se demostró su confiabilidad luego de la aplicación a una muestra piloto. El estudio de acuerdo con el instrumento aborda tres tipos de creencias: creencias facilitadoras, creencias obstaculizadoras y creencias neutras. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los progenitores del nivel inicial de la institución evaluada tienen una posición positiva en cuanto a las creencias sobre el aprendizaje del idioma inglés.

This research is aimed at delving into the beliefs that parents have about learning the English language at the early childhood education level. The research, which is of a basic type, with a descriptive level and a quantitative approach, worked with a sample of thirty parents whose children attend a private educational institution in the Ate - Vitarte district. The instrument used to measure the variable was an adaptation of the BALLI (Beliefs About Language Learning) Inventory, which was duly validated through expert judgment and its reliability was demonstrated after application to a pilot sample. The study according to the instrument addresses three types of beliefs: facilitating beliefs, hindering beliefs and neutral beliefs. The results obtained show that the parents of the early childhood education level of the evaluated institution have a positive position in terms of beliefs about learning the English language.
