At the beginning of the present research work, we observed that not all teachers use the Chamilo Virtual Platform in an optimal way for the dictation of courses related to the different professional careers that the university offers. There are few teachers who take advantage of this virtual platform in teaching and learning, which is why we decided to investigate the impact of the use of the Chamilo Virtual Platform in the achievement of learning in the subject of Communication in the students of the first cycle of the career of Psychology. In the investigation of information related to the topic of thesis, we have found literature and references from other educational institutions that have allowed us to gather knowledge about the benefits in the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which has served us well of guidance to structure the present work. This thesis studies the relationship that exists between the variable use of the Chamilo Virtual Platform and the achievement variable of learning in the subject of Communication, in students of a private university in metropolitan Lima. The sample was composed of students of the first cycle of Psychology and Nutrition careers respectively of Semester 2017 - I, making a total of 72 participants. The research is descriptive, because the variables are defined and measured in a specific context; correlational, because the relationship between the variables is quantified and explained; with a quantitative approach because data is collected to test the hypothesis, previously established, based on numerical measurement and statistical analysis, which allows establishing patterns of behavior; and the research design is quasi-experimental, because two groups are chosen, one experimental and one control, in which a variable is tested over a period of time to later compare it. Once the work was finished, the following conclusions were reached: research has shown that the use of the Chamilo Virtual Platform generates a greater learning achievement in the subject of Communication in Psychology students, in comparison with the achievement of learning the students of the Nutrition career who did not use the Chamilo Virtual Platform.
