The present study aimed to determine the level of physical activity and the frequency of food consumption in relation to the risk of developing metabolic syndrome in school children from 7 to 10 years of the Educational Institution N° 125 Ricardo Palma of the District of San Juan de Lurigancho. The study was implemented. Explanatory level. Observational - descriptive correlational and cross-sectional study. The sample under study was comprised of 75 children between the ages of 7 to 10 years of age of both sexes. The variables for this study are: Consumption of Food, Physical Activity and Factors of the Metabolic Syndrome. There was applied the test of Chi-square that related if a relation exists between the factors of metabolic risk with the consumption of food and the level of physical activity. One concludes that the consumption of food and his relation with the factors of the metabolic syndrome they are not significant. To comparison of the level of physical activity that if it is a significant factor to develop metabolic syndrome in the studied population.
