The objective of this research is to determine the impact of the "Educating my emotions" prevention program on the level of self-control among adolescents of one Educational Institution of the city of Trujillo. The Program was studied among 13 to 15 years old 89 students of the 3rd year of secondary school. The test administered were Cuestionario de Autocontrol infantil y adolescente CACIA, by Capafons, et al. (2011).The type of research is comparative descriptive, the phenomenon studied before and after the application of the program was measured. "Educating my emotions" waiting for possible variations of the variable self-control. Likewise. Regarding the methodology, it is within the descriptive level, since the main objective is to collect information on the current state of the phenomenon investigated and the results obtained will be a contribution to the recognition of the elements that make it up. Finally, it was found that the Program achieved behavioral changes in the self-control of the students, but these changes were not significant. Improved certain self-control behaviors of students such as the delay of impulses and desires, the ability to withstand adverse situations and personal responsibility; However, it is likely that being a complex construct that depends on many other constructs such as: self-esteem, social skills, impulsiveness, emotional intelligence, requires more work sessions, training parents to give sustainability to the tools proposed for the program and continuity for greater effectiveness.
