The goal of the present investigation is to analyze and compare the resilienc levels of adolescents from Lima and Huanta, according to the family type they belong to. The research design is descriptive-comparative. The population for the study was made up of 1022 adolescents of both genders, aged between 12 and 17. The sample was made up of 510 adolescents. The first instrument was a data form that was used to collect information about the adolescents’ family type. The second instrument was the Resilience Scale (RS), created by Wagnild and Young (1993) in the United States. In Peru, Novella made the adaptation with a reliability value of .88, according to Cronbach’s Alpha Internal Consistency method. The results of the investigation showed no statistically significant differences between the resilience levels of adolescents from Lima and Huanta based on their family type: the Kruskal-Wallis K Test yielded .708. It was found that adolescents from Huanta have higher levels of self-assurance in comparison to their peers from Lima. Likewise, it was found that female adolescents from Lima and Huanta are more satisfied with their lives than their male counterparts.
