This research describes the relationship between styles of humor and dimensions of happiness in a group of university students from Lima between 20 and 24 years old. The Sense of Humor Scale (HSQ) (Martin, Puhlik-Doris, Larsen, Gray & Weir, 2003), validation Peruvian (Cassaretto and Martínez, 2009), and Escala de Felicidad de Lima (EFL) (Alarcón, 2000) were used. Significant correlations were found between affiliative humor and happiness personal improvement, confirming the hypothesis of this paper. This means that positive mood serves as a support against the odds, helps to balance negative events and provides a more realistic view of the situations, showing that the expression of feelings of satisfaction and well-being result in better adaptation and achievement of objectives.
