Objective: the general objective of this study is to determine the relationship between eating habits and obesity in children from an Educational Center in Metropolitan Lima, department of Lima, 2024. Method: the present research is quantitative, because the hypothesis was tested and numerical results were obtained. It is of a basic type, because it seeks to expand theoretical and general knowledge. It is descriptive, because no variable was manipulated. It is cross-sectional because the collection of information was carried out at a certain time, it is correlational, because the variable eating habits and the variable obesity were related. Results: the results indicate that most eating habits are interrelated, with several significant correlations reflecting complex patterns of eating behavior among students. However, only "Slow eating" shows a significant relationship with BMI, suggesting that this particular habit might be more closely related to students' nutritional status. Conclusions: The findings of this study underscore the relevance of "Slow eating" in BMI management and suggest the need to implement educational strategies in schools that promote healthy eating habits. Future research should continue to explore the complex interrelationships between dietary habits and nutritional status, considering additional factors that may influence these relationships.
