The present research work was carried out in the Caserío de Huaracada, in the district of Santa Cruz de Chuca, Province of Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad; The main objective of this project is to design two routes (Route 1 and Route 2), between the section of the urban area of Huaracalda - Yerbabuena sector and compare both solutions for their total costs. Therefore, it was necessary to have the following studies: Topographic survey of the surface necessary for the tracing of the three routes in the cabinet, which by means of absolute and relative methods, the first two winning routes were selected for their subsequent geometric design, studies of floors, geometric design of winning Routes, design of affirmed, hydrological studies and analysis of costs and budgets, where the technical knowledge of engineering, norms and manuals in force by the Ministry of Transport and Communications was applied. For our project the type of descriptive research was used and the design is non-experimental transversal, the research techniques is the observation and the instruments are the data sheets and field notebooks; for the processing of information, software such as Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, arcgis were used and for the analysis, graphs and data tables were used. Once the comparison in costs and budgets was made, Route 2 was obtained as the best result, since it is the most economical. With a budget of 1025671.76 soles, unlike Route 1 with a budget of 1078721.67 soles. Both routes are classified as Low Volume Traffic roads (CBVT). Considering its topography and economic criteria, it has allowed us to adopt a Design Speed of 20 km / h, following the guidelines and parameters of the Manual for the Design of Unpaved Roads of Low Traffic Volume and DG. 2018; that is why our design is subordinated to said manual.
