Research in this paper is to conduct an analysis of the design methodology used for determining the thickness of concrete slab of the structure of a rigid pavement. Besides other aspects that are part of the design of a pavement structure which in some cases are not given due attention, such as assessed: slab geometry (width and length), and the determination of the tie rods and dowels required, which have a significant impact on the proper performance of the pavement structure. The design method discussed in this investigation is recommended by the American Portland Cement Association (PCA) 1984 edition, as is suggested in the RNE (urban pavements) for the design of streets and highways in our country method. For the preparation of this study design for rigid pavement Jr. Chimbote was performed using the method described theories and PCA. The thickness design of rigid pavement crockery obtained for Chimbote Jr. 9 "implies a proper balance between the initial and maintenance costs.
