This study was conducted in the native communities of San Antonio del Pintuyacu and San Juan de Ungurahual, located in Alto Nanay, in Maynas province in Loreto department; with the objective of evaluating the use of wood as fuel in the aforementioned native communities. The results show that the daily average volume of firewood is 0.042 m³ and per communty 1.36 m³. The preferred tree species for firewood is "huacapurana" in San Antonio del Pintuyacu and "rifari" in San Juan of Ungurahual with a percentage of 25.37% and 23.88%. It is expected by 2030 an average of 78 inhabitants and volume of wood consumed in the community of San Juan de Ungurahual of 322.92 m3, and the volume of wood to bid is 79.658 m3 / ha. It is expected for 2030, an average of 162 inhabitants and volume of wood consumed in the community of San Antonio del Pintuyacu 554 04 m3, and the volume of firewood offer of 94,047 07 m3 / ha, far exceeds the historical future demand. Both native communities by family consume a daily average of 25 to 24 slivers of wood; and having an average of 1,100 per community in San Antonio de Pintuyacu and San Juan de Ungurahual firewood used daily 552 slides.
