A study was conducted to determine the relationship between blood alcohol levels and traffic accidents in the Loreto region. A qualitative blood alcohol test was performed, prior to the extraction of the biological sample for quantitative examination; the study was descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 270 people involved in traffic accidents. The results found that 65.6% of people involved in traffic accidents were negative in the qualitative blood alcohol test; 90.7% were male; the age group with the highest participation was the young adult (18 to 40 years) with 60.8%; 69.6% of road accidents were by crash; 57% of people involved were in a period of drunkenness, 29% in the period of absolute drunkenness and 14% had a subclinical level; the relationship between the type of accident and blood alcohol level of people involved was also determined, obtaining that 38.7% of people suffered accidents or collisions and were in a drunken state. According to Pearson's statistical analysis of Chi square, the genus relates to the blood alcohol level of people involved; age and type of accident are unrelated to the blood alcohol level of the people involved. Blood alcohol levels are unrelated to road traffic accidents in the Loreto region in 2019.
