This research was conducted in the laboratories of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, located in Nina Rumi, District of San Juan, Province of Maynas, State of Loreto, the objective was make the phytochemical screening and determine the antibacterial activity In vitro of Clidemia hirta L. Don “Mullaca morada” by the diffusion disk method against pathogenic microorganisms, samples of leaves and fruits were collected surroundings of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. The phytochemical screening was performed, by the method modified of Schabra y Cols and the antibacterial activity was determined of ethanolic extract of leaves by the diffusion disk method against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli y Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In the leaves showed higher: triterpens – steroids, essential oils, phenolics, lactones, flavonoids, and less carotene, saponins. In the fruits showed higher: alkaloids, triterpens – steroids, carotenes, essential oils, saponins, phenolic and flavonoids. It was not found amino acids and amines. The antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract of leaves of C. hirta against Staphylococcus aureus was 66.67% to concentration of 19mg/ml, 58.33% to 12 mg/ml, obtained as a result Moderately Active; Escherichia coli, was 85.19% to 19mg/ml, obtained as a result Good Activity, 74.07% and 62.96% to concentration of 12 y 6 mg/ml with Moderately Active. For Pseudomonas aeruginosa, no inhibition was evidenced, it is considered Inactive. It is concluded that the ethanol extract of leaves of C. hirta to concentrations of 12 y 19mg/ml presented light antibacterial activity against to S. aureus and E. coli.
