This study quantified the carbon dioxide sequestration and the oxygen emission of the Alchornea triplinervia, Parkia velutina, Cedrelinga cateniformis and Eschweilera grandifolia trees of very low, medium and high hardness, respectively. The data were obtained by means of an arboreal inventory in 4 blocks of 1 ha, and using alometric formulas established by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change-IPCC, the volume and the biomass were calculated. The results show that the highest production of biomass, carbon stock, CO2 sequestration and oxygen emission has been determined in E. grandifolia trees of high hardness, followed by C. cateniformis trees of medium hardness; While per hectare has been found in E. grandifolia and A. triplinervia. The ANVA F test on the four blocks at 0.05 confidence level is significant for all proposed sources of variability; While the correlation analysis shows that the variables Hardness - Biomass, Hardness - Carbon Stock, Hardness – CO2 sequestration and Hardness – O2 emission; Showed a highly significant correlation (p = 0.0244) with Pearson coefficient equal to r = 0.97561.
