The present investigation aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude to occupational accidents in students of the biological type III, IV and V level study at the School of Nursing at the University ofthe Peruvian Amazon, !quitos 2010. The method was quantitative and non experimental, descriptive orrelational. The population was 122 students and the sample consisted of 95 students, obtained by stratified probability sarnpling. The technique was the interview and instruments were the questionnaire on knowledge and attitude and Likert-type scale on biological occupational accidents (90.5% validity, reliability of 75.9%) and Likert-type scale (86.9% validity, reliability 80.7%). Data were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0. For the hypotheses we used Pearson's r, with a significance level a = 0.05, allowing to determine the relationship of variables with a confidence level of 95%. The major findings were: 57.9% (55) students had inadequate knowledge and 42.1% (40) had adequate knowledge, 85.3% (81) students had negative attitude and 14. 7% (14) students had positive attitude towards occupational accidents biological type. In establishing the relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward occupational accidents Biological type was obtained fxy = 0.276, P = 0.007 to p <0.05, allowing approve the research hypothesis: There is significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude to occupational accidents in students of the biological type III, IV and V level of study at the Faculty of Nursing, National University of the Peruvian Amazon.
