The present study had as objective to determine the relationship among the attitudes toward the reading and the level of the students' of sixth degree of the I.E understanding reader. Ruy L. Guzman Hidalgo, the used method was the descriptive-explanatory one, the population it was conformed by 150 students, the sample that belonged to 133 students of both sexes that were selected in an intentional way of the study. The design was of Former non experimental type Post Facto, because the investigator doesn't seek to manipulate the variables, neither to generalize the results, for it was applied it two instruments, (1) The Test of Understanding Reader of Progressive Linguistic Complexity for sixth degree (CLP 6-form TO) that allowed to identify the level of reading understanding that the children presented (ace); and (2) The Questionnaire of Attitudes toward the reading, with which their attitudes were evaluated toward the reading, the application process had a duration of two weeks. Being reached the following conclusions: Indeed, the yield in the students' of sixth degree reading is below that waited for its degree and for the year in that you/they were evaluated. With respect to the attitudes toward the reading of the children (ace) evaluated they are favorable. You also concludes that relationship doesn't exist some among the two variables of the study, therefore the first floor level of understanding reader is attributed to other variables different to the attitudes.
