The present work aims to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of salbutamol inhaled using two methods, aerochamber more MDI (microdosers) and nebulization, for the treatment of asthma in children 5 to 10 years. Children selected for the study were evaluated trough the Pulmonary Score for the presence of relevant clinical symptoms to moderate asthma attack, whit the agreement signed by the parents, the kids that were in that category were randomly separated into two proportional groups together; a total of 148 patients 74 were treated with salbutamol more aerochamber and 74 with salbutamol in nebulization. With Pulmonary Score and the measuring of uroflowmetry trough of PEF (Peak expiratory flow), initial and basal, the reversibility of the crisis was determined. The data collection sheets were processed statistically, sorting data in tables and charts, resulting in an overall improvement in both groups. Concludes thus no difference statistically relevant clinical symptoms present in children evaluated in both groups after drug administration, this reflects the effectiveness of both methods and verifies the efficiency of salbutamol in aerochamber more MDI as an alternative method in the management of moderate acute asthma in the Emergency Department.
