The present study aimed to determine the relationship between the facial biotype and the types of dental arches in the students of the Dentistry Faculty of the UNAP. The investigation had a Quantitative form; the design was not experimental, co relational, transversal. The population was formed by 75 patients. The instrument used to identify the facial biotype was the Facial Index, and the instrument to determine the dental arch type was the OrthoForm template, 3M Unitek. The most important findings were: The Leptoprosopic facial biotype (49, 33%) followed by the Mesoprosopic facial biotype (37, 33%) are the ones that prevail. The gender does not influence in the facial biotype. The oval shaped dental arch prevails in the superior and inferior maxilla. There are dependencies between the student' s gender and dental arch, which means that the gender has an influence on the dental arch. There is no dependency relationship between the dental arch of the superior maxilla or the inferior maxilla with the students' facial biotype.
