The present investigation was carried out in the city of Iquitos, province of Maynas, department of Loreto, from the month of August of the year 2015 to the month of July of 2016. The type of investigation corresponded to a descriptive and explanatory investigation. The research method used was the Logical Total Inductive Method. The general objective was to determine the effects of the contamination of the residual waters on the health of the population bordering Lake Morona Cocha. The approach of the research problem answered the question: What is the effect of the contamination of the residual waters in the health of the population bordering the lake of Morona Cocha? Wastewater pollution causes serious disruption to human health by the generation of diseases, it is crucial to know the effects that these waters cause in the population that lives near places of emissions or landfills. The most relevant results obtained in this research are: The majority of the population living near Lake Morona Cocha suffers from digestive diseases 58.9% and the period when the population was most sick is in the growing period with 53.7. The main contribution of this research is that, it will serve as the basis for future research on the subject.
