Nivel de autoestima y uso del preservativo en estudiantes mujeres - facultad de enfermería Universidad nacional de la amazonia Peruana, iquitos - 2017

Abstract

El objetivo fue determinar la relación entre nivel de autoestima y el uso del preservativo en las estudiantes de la Facultad de Enfermería de la Universidad Nacional de la Amazonia Peruana (UNAP), de la ciudad de Iquitos durante el año 2017. El método empleado fue el cuantitativo y el diseño no experimental de tipo correlacional y transversal. La población fueron 245 estudiantes mujeres, del primer al quinto nivel de estudios, con matricula regular 2017-I. La muestra conformada por 150 de la población asignados mediante muestreo probabilístico estratificado. La técnica fue la encuesta, los instrumentos: Escala de autoestima de Coopersmith (Validez 98% y confiabilidad de 92%), y el Cuestionario de uso de preservativos (Validez 92% y confiabilidad 89%). Los datos fueron analizados con el programa SPSS 22.0. La prueba estadística inferencial fue el Chi Cuadrado (X2), con α =0.05 y nivel de confianza de 95%. Los resultados son los siguientes: Del 100.0% (150) de las estudiantes 74.7% (112), tuvieron autoestima baja, 35.3% (38) tuvieron autoestima alta, 56.7% (85) usaron el preservativo en forma incorrecta, y 26.0% (39) no usan preservativos en sus relaciones sexuales. Conclusión: En inferencia estadística, se observa un X2c = 4.362, y un p = 0.037 < α = 0.05, por lo que se acepta la hipótesis planteada, es decir: Existe relación estadística significativa entre el nivel de autoestima y el uso del preservativo en las estudiantes de la Facultad de Enfermería de la Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana de la ciudad de Iquitos, durante el año 2017.

The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of self-esteem and the use of condoms in the students of the Faculty of Nursing of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP), of the city of Iquitos during the year 2017. The method used it was the quantitative and the non-experimental design of correlational and transversal type. The population was 245 female students, from the first to the fifth level of studies, with regular enrollment 2017-I. The sample consists of 150 of the population assigned by stratified probabilistic sampling. The technique was the survey, the instruments: Coopersmith's self-esteem scale (98% validity and 92% reliability), and the condom use questionnaire (92% validity and 89% reliability). The data was analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program. The inferential statistical test was Chi Square (X2), with α = 0.05 and confidence level of 95%. The results are as follows: Of 100.0% (150) of the students 74.7% (112), they had low self-esteem, 35.3% (38) had high self-esteem, 56.7% (85) used the condom incorrectly, and 26.0% (39) do not use condoms in their sexual relationships. Conclusion: In statistical inference, we observe an X2c = 4.362, and a p = 0.037 <α = 0.05, so the hypothesis is accepted, that is: There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of self-esteem and the use of condoms in the students of the Faculty of Nursing of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon of the city of Iquitos, during the year 2017.
