The purpose of this research is mainly based on the cultivation of Caupi (Vigna unguiculata L), aimed at finding a new technique in the use of nitrogen fertilizer for optimal crop development. The research was experimental, with an experimental design of Random Complete Blocks (DBCA) with 04 treatments and 04 repetitions. The population size was 768 plants, distributed at a rate of 192 plants per treatment. The evaluations were made at the time of harvest and according to the variables under study according to the agronomic characteristics of the Caupi crop, whose variables evaluated were: Length of pods / plant (cm), weight of pods / plant (kg), number of grains / pod (unit), number of pods / plant (unit), weight of grains / plant (kg), yield kg / ha. The results obtained under the conditions in which the present study was conducted, allowed to establish the following conclusions: The best treatment obtained in relation to all the variables evaluated corresponds to the T3 treatment. Obtaining the following results: Number of Pods / Cowpea Plant (Soil + Foliar Application) with an average of 27,800 Pods / Plant; Length of Pods / Cowpea Plant, with an average of 21,300 Cm.; Weight of Pods / Plant corresponds to T3, being statistically equal with T2 with 67,950 g .; Number of grains / pod, with 21.5787 Grains / Pods, Grain weight / plant, with 41.7000 g. and finally with respect to the variable Grain yield Kg / ha. with 2606.25 Kg / ha of Grain Weight. The hypothesis is confirmed that the edaphic and foliar application of nitrogen efficiently influences the yield and agronomic characteristics of the caupi crop (Vigna unguiculata L.)
