This study was aimed to determine the relationship of the status of fixed partial dentures and periodontal condition in patients seen at the dental clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry 2006-2008. The methodology used was non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational type. The study population was 68 patients, the sample was 44 patients. The instruments used to assess the status of fixed partial dentures and periodontal status was a data collection form validated by expert opinion, which consists oftwo parts: in the first part evaluated the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index Oill-S, Gingival Index (GI), Muller Mobili:ty Index (MI) and radiographic assessment, the second part assessed, type of material, time use, marginal adaptation of crowns and bridges, N pontic, pontic type, Profile Emergency gingival pockets and interproximal contacts. The results were: 79.5% (35 patients) were ages 30 to 40 years and 20.5% (9 patients) of 20 to 30 years, there were no patients over 40 years, •75.0% (33 patients) were female and 25.0 % (8 patients) were males.
