This research study was to determine the relationship between demographic factors, cultural and attitude toward abortion in users of !quitos Support Hospital during 2010. The method was quantitative and nonexperimental descriptive correlational. The sample consisted of 145 users aged 14 to 45 years, which were selected according to inclusion criteria. We used the technique of interview and home visits. The instruments used were a questionnaire to collect data on sociodemographic factors, cultural and the Lickert scale to assess attitudes toward abortion with 20 items, for the validation of the instruments used the method of expert opinion, obtaining a validity -of93% and 97% reliability. The results ofthe univariate analysis were: 65.52% found in adulis, 74.48% are single, 60.69% have occupation, 75.86% are from urban areas, 47.59% no financial contribution, 53.1% had secondary study, 87.59% profess religion. Regarding the bivariate analysis to test the hypothesis of study used non-parametric inferential statistics known as Chi-square to determine the relationship of study variables with a significance level a = 0.05, yielding significant relationship exists between occupation (X2C = 15,647), economic (X2C = 9851}, religion (X2C = 18,389); level of education and attitude toward abortion (X2C = 14 651) but no significant association with age (X2C = 0.382) marital status (X2C = O. 725) and origin (X2 = 2831 ). The results of this research will propose, implement and evaluate strategies and 1 or activities aimed at the prevention or reduction of abortion and its consequences, improving the information system, ensuring · good comprehensive sexual and reproductive education to schools, achieving thus improve the quality of life of the adolescent, family and society.
