The purpose of this work was to provide basic knowledge about good management and performance of the rhizome of Zingiber officinale Rosc. (Kión) from adequate planting densities to know if there are significant differences between them, in terms of planting this species and therefore greater production in terms of yield of rhizomes per plant. The Random Complete Blocks Design (DCA) was used, with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions (fixed effects). Deductive reasoning was used in order to infer the behavior of the variables under study from the experiment performed, and through a comparative analysis of the different planting densities a more adequate density was reached in terms of higher ginger production. The population consisted of 228 plants, distributed in the plots according to the following treatment: T1: 32, T2: 24, T3: 20. The sample was randomly selected and consisted of harvesting 10 plants from each bed, that is, 90 whole plants of kion were harvested to be evaluated respectively. It is concluded that the hypothesis of the investigation was not demonstrated in the present experiment, whose objective was to study and compare the relationship between planting densities and their effect on rhizome yield and other agronomic characteristics of Zingiber officinale Rosc .; however, density (T2: 0.40mx 0.50m) is recommended, as long as a higher crop yield, higher production is sought, obtaining results with 20216 kg / ha of ginger (kion) and density (T1: 0.30mx 0.50 m), if it is intended to obtain a higher plant height and a good production of fresh and dry rhizome weight according to the increase in planting population density; Less competition from light, water, nutrients.
