In this research was to determine nutritional status and academic performance in 5th and 6th grade students of IEPM No. 60055 - Serafín Filomeno during the year 2016, in the district of Maynas. It had a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, correlational approach. The sample consisted of 72 students in the 5th and 6th grades of the primary level. The instruments used were anthropometric evaluation form, the final average of the course, surveys of the economic stratum applied to the Graffar - Méndez Castellano method and food frequency questionnaire. The results obtained show that 53 students (73.61%) had normal nutritional status, 11 (15.28%) were overweight and 8 (11.11%) were obese; 6 students (8.33%) presented low stature, 66 (91.67%) normal stature; 2 students (2.78%) presented a mild hemoglobin status, 1 (1.39%) moderate and 69 (95.83%) normal hemoglobin; 75.00% of 5th graders had higher carbohydrate consumption in processed products and 100.00% in 6th grade students consumed cereals. Protein foods consumed were meat with 61.84% in 5th grade and 70.33% in 6th grade. And in foods with lipids, 5th grade students consume more (45.14%) than 6th grade students (29.86%). The 25 (34.72%) students belong to the low economic stratum and 44 (61.11%) to the average economic stratum. In order to establish the degree of association between the variables, the results were submitted to the Spearman correlation statistical test, which determined that there is significant statistical evidence to affirm that there is a correlation between the math scores and the variables of the nutritional status (Rho = 0.278, p-value = 0.018) with a significance level of 5%.
