The hypoglycemic effect has been determined from the Allium Cepa “Regional Onion” aqueous and ethanol extract administered to Holtzman strain male albino mice. That experiment was descriptive, experimental and prospective. We used reactive Alloxane 5% that caused hyperglycemia to mice. At first time we weighed mice (186 gr average weight), we took the basal glucose 12 hours later, then we determined hyperglycemia with Alloxane 48 hours later. They were distributed into 5 experimental groups; negative control group (NaCl 0,9%), positive control groups (Glibenclamide 5 mg), 2 control group; aqueous extract from Allium Cepa “Regional Onion” and ethanol extract from Allium Cepa “Regional Onion” to 500 mg/kg/p.c dose and white group (distilled water). We induced experimental diabetic with Alloxane (150 mg/kg) by intraperitoneal via, we considered hyperglycemia ≥ 170 mg/dl, then we proceeded to the treatment with the aqueous and ethanol extract from Allium Cepa “Regional Onion” by oral via, we made measurement of glycemia to 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours. We realized that the ethanol extract 500 mg/kg/p.c. dose the glycemia deveased to 13% and the aqueous extract 500 mg/kg/p.c. dose the glycemia decreased to 22%, and we determined that the aqueous extract from Allium Cepa “Regional Onion” to 24 hours of evaluation it had a better hyperglycemia effect in on mice, in treatment. The regional onion demostrated that it has hyperglycemia effect on people too.
