The study on the economic valuation of commercial forest species of a low hill forest in the Santa Catalina area, Sarayacu-Loreto district, Peru. The data of 42 commercial species of PC 01 from the forest management area for timber purposes were evaluated. A total of 3495 trees grouped into 42 commercial forest species and 15 botanical families were recorded. The Fabacea family contains the largest number of species (12 species). The results indicate that 13 species show the highest ecological weight in the study area with 154.25% of IVI, which represents 51.42% of the total. In addition, D. odorata “shihuahuaco” (24.27%) of the Fabaceae family is the most ecologically important species in this forest, which stands out for its abundance and for the area it occupies (dominance). The commercial timber volume amounts to 17.24 m3 / ha out of a total of 19 086.61m3. In addition, D. odorata “shihuahuaco” (2.87 m3 / ha), P. reticulata “quina quina” (1.41 m3 / ha), S. tenuifolia “pashaco” (1.29 m3 / ha) and ”B . lactescens “manchinga” (1.22 m3 / ha) are the species with the highest volume. The evaluated forest reached a current value of S /. 2,822.48 nuevos soles / ha out of a total of S /. 3 124 484.9 nuevos soles, where the species D. odorata “shihuhuaco” S /. 838 186.67 nuevos soles, C. amygdaliforme “almendro” S /. 237,949.27 nuevos soles and P. reticulata “quina quina” S /. 206,500.79 nuevos soles present the highest values. The floristic diversity of the evaluated forest reports a total of 42 species, where the number of species decreases as the size of the area increases.
