The sample size was calculated probability and using the formula for the sample was compared to 2 groups of 40 students for the experimental and control group respectively. Technique was used to test the instrument of which was: the evaluation test. For the statistical processing software was used Office 2010 and SPSS version 20 for Windows XP. The strategy shows its effectiveness SSMR improving reading comprehension level of the students ofthe Faculty ofEducational Sciences and Humanities, National University ofthe Peruvian Amazon, compared to averages achieved after application with the control students group. From the results of the study realized, the proposal is designed to mal•c thc use of the strategy SSMR be included in the ncw currículum of the Faculty of Education and Humanities as a preparatory coursc for freshmen to National Univcrsity of the Peruvian Amazon. The results ofthe study are: The study samples are normally distributed in experimental group ( comprehensión: literal p = 0.081, p = 0.096 Inferential; critica} p = 0.066) and in the control group ( comprehensión: literal p = 0.401, p = 0.063 Inferential; critica} p = 0.072) The achievement levels of reading comprehension of students in experimental and control groups, bcfore the implementation ofthe strategy SSRM strategy was: literallevel; Process: 87 .5%, 87 .5%. Inferentiallevel, began 92.5%, 90%. Critica} Level, began 95%, 95%. The achievement levels of reading comprehension of students in experimental and control groups aft:er the application of the SSMR stratcgy was: literal level; Outstanding Achievement 90%, 87.5% Process. Infercntiallevel; Expected achievement 87.5%, 92.5% Process. Criticallevel Expected achievement 90%, 87.5%. It was determined that students in both groups start with reading cmnprehension levels statistically equal conditions applying Student's t test for independent samples: comprehension: literal p = 0.482, inferential p = 0.098; critica} p = 0.056) The strategy for reading comprehension SSMR shows its effectiveness significantly improving reading comprehension levels of students in the experimental group of Professional Schools of the Faculty of Education at the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, compared to averages achievcd after application with students in the control group.
