The purpose of this study was to determine the in vitro antibacterial activity of the hydroalcoholic extract of leaves of Chenopodium ambrosioides (paico), by the method of Macrodilución. The sample was collected in the Community Nina-Rumi, Maynas province, district of San Juan in Loreto department, Peru. And taxonomically identified in the Herbarium Amazonense of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (AP) and was deposited for their conservation in the phytochemical laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. The determination was made in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry - AP. For the study of in vitro antibacterial activity of the hydroalcoholic extract by the method of Macrodilución, was used strains of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The results of the minimum inhibitory concentration of the hydroalcoholic extract of leaves of Chenopodium ambrosioides was 8 mg/ml for Escherichia coli and 4 mg/ml Staphylococcus aureus, considering as inactive and little active with regard to these bacteria.
