The objective of this investigation has been to analyze whether the amparo process in Peru constitutes an effective judicial protection mechanism for the right to identity of transgender people. For this, a descriptive and cross-sectional study was considered, a single measurement of the observed variables was made. Thus, a prospective study was proposed because the information was collected from direct sources in the framework of the development of the research. A non-experimental and mixed methodology was executed; because quantitative and qualitative studies converged. Thus, 90% of the interviewees consider that the protection of the right to identity of transgender people is between "good" and "excellent". 90% of the interviewees consider that the judicial mechanisms for the protection of the right to identity of transgender people are between "good" and "excellent". 90% of the interviewees consider that the process of protection in the protection of the right to identity of transgender people is between “excellent” and “good”. 70% of the interviewees consider that the amparo process is an effective mechanism in protecting the right to identity of transgender people is "effective". There is a relationship in the protection of fundamental rights and the suitability of the amparo process. To that extent, we consider that the amparo process is the ideal process given that it is used in situations in which there is no effective procedural way of protecting fundamental rights.
