The study was carried out in the forest of the “El Triunfo” peasant community, located at km 48 of the Iquitos-Nauta road, San Juan Bautista, Maynas, Loreto. The objective was to quantify the increase in diameter and height and the survival and mortality after six months of Theobroma cacao seedlings transplanted from a temporary nursery close to two remaining forest plots of 1 ha each. A 3 m spacing was used between seedlings and rows, making a total of 1089 seedlings per plot. The results indicate that the highest increase in diameter of 9,71 mm was obtained in plot 1 and the lowest of 7,73 mm in plot 2. The average increase in height was higher in plot 1 with 38,06 cm, while in the plot it was 36,78 cm. Survival in both plots was very high, 97,25% in plot 1 and 98,26% in plot 2. The Chi-square test revealed that there is a slight significant statistical difference in the average of the increase in diameter and height of the transplanted T. cacao seedlings in the two plots of the final field.
