The objective was to determine the efficiency of three hormonal inducers (EPC, Conceptal and Ovaprim) in spawning induction and spermization in 27 pairs of Brycon cephalus fish (1.67 ± 0.22 kg in weight and 47.63 ± 3.23 cm in males and 2.74 ± 0.29 kg of weight and 52.83 ± 2.83 cm of length in females) known like Sábalo Red tail, raised in the research center Fernando Alcántara Bocanegra of the IIAP in Iquitos. The application of the protocols was done with two doses of hormone inducers, the first initial dose of 10% of the total and a second trigger dose 12 hours after the first one and representing 90% of the total calculated dose: T1 (EPC) : 5 mg / kg in females and 2 mg / kg in males; T2 (Conceptal) 2.5 ml / kg in females and 1.5 ml / kg in males and; T3: (Ovaprim) 0.50 ml / kg in females and 0.25 ml / kg in males. EPC-induced males showed, on average, a seminal volume (4.8 ± 1.04 ml), higher than those induced with Conceptal (1.43 ± 0.5 ml) but similar to the mean obtained with males administered Ovaprim (2.7 ± 1.4 ml). (P <0.05) were also observed in the spermatocrit readings between the males induced with EPC, which in average showed higher levels (25.33 ± 2.5%) than those induced with Ovaprim (20.33 ± 05%). There were no differences in sperm concentration (P = 0.2203) as inducer effect. The spermatozoa of B. cephalus have characteristics common to those of other organisms, presenting a head, a neck and a whip that measures 64.3 μm. As for females, it was determined that ovulation occurred six hours after the second dose of EPC, and no ovulation was recorded with T2 and T3 treatments. On average, females induced with CPE presented ovulation at 196.6 ± 45.4 hours - grade, with ovulation rates of 66.6% and mean fertilization rates of 78.6 ± 4%. The average wound weight was 195 ± 72 g per female, while the occurrence began between 10 to 12 hours after fertilization. According to the results obtained, the use of the hormonal inducer EPC is valid, since it had positive effects on ovulation. On the other hand, all hormonal treatments had positive effects on the spermiation of B. cephalus presenting statistical differences in terms of seminal volume and spermatocritic values, as opposed to sperm concentration, where influential attributable to hormonal inducers was not recorded.
