The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity in vitro of the ethanolic leaf extrac of Hymenaea courbaril L. (Azúcar huayo), by methods Macrodilution. The Samples of bark, on both sides of the road were collected Reserved Nature from km 25, district of Saint John Bautista, bank of Nanay river-low forestand taxonomically identified at the Herbarium Amazonense National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP) and was deposited for preservation in the laboratory fland. CIRNA UNAP. The dried leaves were macerated in ethanol 96°, for 7 days, then was concentrated on Rotavapor drying equipment and the environment, for obtaining ethanol extract. The dried bark was macerated in ethanol 96 ° for 7 days, then was concentrated on a rotary evaporator and drying equipment environment for obtaining ethanol extract. Meeting a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2 mg / mL for Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and 1 mg / mL for Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, both are moderate antibacterial activities.
