The purpose of this research study is to determine the relationship between appetite and dietary habits in the Nutritional State of hemodialysis outpatients in the Nephrology Service of the HRL "Felipe Arriola Iglesias" treated in the period from March to October 2016. The clinical history of 94 adult patients who actively attended the hemodialysis treatment who met the inclusion criteria. The nutritional status was determined using the serum albumin indicator; In addition, the nutritional habits and the nutritional follow-up sheet were evaluated using the data collection sheets of the hemodialysis outpatients. It was found that the majority of hemodialysis patients belonged to the female sex (52.1%), and housewives (46.8%), with elderly patients predominating (51.1%). More than 50% of our patients have the treatment time of 1 to 3 years, with hypertension and diabetes mellitus being the main associated diseases. According to albumin levels, more than 54.3% of our patients had adequate nutritional status; Regarding appetite, most had good appetite (44.7%) or regular appetite (39.4%) and almost 80% of patients had inadequate eating habits.
