The objective of the present investigation was to determine the predictive factors (age, sex, level of education, marital status, cohabitation person, health insurance, economic situation, origin, presence of diabetes, presence of hypertension) related to the cognitive function of the adult. of the Elderly Center of the Regional Hospital of Loreto, Punchana - 2018. The non-experimental design was used, cross-sectional type: descriptive correlational. The sample consisted of 60 Older Adults. The techniques used were the interview and home visit. The applied instruments were the questionnaire of characterization of the sample with a validity of 86.23%. The Miniexamen cognitive scale (MEC) of wolf reliability of 0.86% correlation coefficient. With sensitivity of 89.6% and specificity of 75.1% in its construct. The data were analyzed through the SPSS package version 22.0, whose results were: 45.0% are intermediate adults with an average age of 72.5 years, female sex predominated with 93.3%, primary education level presents 63.3%, state civil 41.7% are married. With regard to the person living together, 41.6% live with their children. Regarding health insurance, 96.7% have insurance. 60.0% do not receive financial support. 96.7% live in urban areas. 16.7% have diabetes mellitus, and 63.3% have hypertension. Older adults with borderline cognitive function are 35.0% and 6.7% have mild deterioration. When we relate the predictive factors and the cognitive function we have, the factors that best predict the cognitive function are: age (p = 0.009), sex (p = 0.010), educational level (p = 0.012) and health insurance (p = 0.006), according to the results of the bivariate correlation and the ordinal logistic regression.
