This study is based on the Ecological Characterization of Seven Types of Forest Management in the area of the native community of Santa Mercedes, Rio Putumayo, Peru, with the aim of ecologically characterize the timberline of the native community of Santa Mercedes and compare various ecological characteristics between different types of forests. 8,334 copies were found with diameter breast height 10 cm, belonging to 278 species, the same that are distributed in 190 genera and 48 families. In the forests assessed the native community of Santa Mercedes, Putumayo River, the family Fabaceae with 39 species and 24 genera is the most important; Inga gender sticking with seven species. In whole, in the territory of the native community of Santa Mercedes, the five most important species are Cumala (IVI = 19.16%), Shimbillo (IVI = 15.29%), Sacha uvilla (IVI = 9.99%) carahuasca (IVI = 8.82%) and Requia (IVI = 8.00%). As a final conclusion, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted; that is, the seven forest types analyzed in the native community of Santa Mercedes, Putumayo River, have a variety of different species.
