This research was carried out with the objective of evaluating and quantifying the generation of solid household organic waste generated as a consequence of the anthropic activity in the community of Puerto Almendras, district of San Juan Bautista, province of Maynas, Loreto region. The method used was the evaluation, based on the systematic collection of numerical data, which made it possible to perform the analysis using simple statistical procedures. The design was non-parametric, because a given situation was studied without introducing any element that varies the behavior of the variables under study. The results obtained show us that the physical composition of household solid waste is 92% organic material and 8% inorganic matter and that there is a deficient solid waste collection service. The per capita generation is 0.3463 Kg / hab / day. In the projection of the generation of organic solid waste per capita a generation of 0.092 tn / day is obtained; 2.8 tons / month and 33.03 tons / year of organic material. Finally, it is observed that the treatment of organic solid waste is not a problem to dispose of within the community, since its transformation into compost or other form of use would require a low investment in the community of Puerto Almendras.
