The presence of depressive symptoms identified especially teenagers, are always a risk of suicide in the same, being tbe most vulnerable age group between the ages of 15 to 18 years, the stage in the processes of physical, psychological, sociocultural and cognitive, radical, becoming the adolescent psychosocial stressors often can not effectively control or manage. In this context it has conducted the present study, the overall objective of determining the relationship between depressive symptoms and suicide risk in adolescent girls and boys, students at lES Loreto, lquitos, 2011, and the specific objectives: to identify depressive symptoms (mild, moderate and severe) and establish the relationship between suicide risk (no risk, slight risk, moderate risk and severe risk). Quantitative method was used with non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, correlational, in a sample of 127 adolescents, who used two instruments: the self-report questionnaire of depressive symptoms (valid and reliable 80% CI 0.81 to alpha Crombach) and risk of suicide (validity: 75% reliability: Cronbach's alpha 0.98), the results of applied descriptive statistics (averages, percentages) and inferential statistics with chi-square parametric test (level significance of alpha = 0.025 <0.05), and SPSS version 18 for Windows XP 2007. The result is that: there is a statistically significant relationship between depressive symptoms and suicide risk in adolescents studied with a x2 = 14.5, df = 6, where: p = 0.025 <0.05 (alpha) which allowed to accept the study hypothesis.
