The purpose of the study was to compare lidocaine at 37ºC and at room temperature in the reduction of pain at injection and shortening of the time of onset of action in the blockade of the inferior dental nerve. Type of quantitative research, Quasi-experimental design. 176 patients were evaluated. The results obtained were at room temperature according to the EVA; 50.6% of the sample presented a classification of 1 to 3 (mild pain); followed by 47.7% with a classification from 4 to 7 (Dolor Modero); 1.7% presented classification 0 (No Pain). According to the ERV at room temperature 95.5% presented pain equal to what was expected (mild pain), 3.4% lower than expected (no pain) and 1.1% higher than expected (severe pain). At 37ºC of temperature According to EVA, 100% presented a classification of 0. According to the ERV, 100% presented less pain than expected (no pain). The average time of onset of action at room temperature was 144.36 + 27.81 seconds and at 37 ° C it was 78.82 + 19.96 seconds. There is a difference in the start time of action at room temperature and at 37ºC. There is no relationship between the time of onset of action at room temperature and age. There is no relationship between the start time of action at 37ºC and age. There is a difference between the EVA between both temperatures. There is a difference between the ERV between both temperatures. There is a difference between the EVA grouped between the two temperatures.
