The present study aimed to determine the relationship between temporomandibular disorders and the age group in patients treated at the I-4 Bellavista Nanay Health Center in 2017. The methodology used was quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, cross. The sample consisted of 272 patients attending the Bellavista Nanay Health Center. The instrument used in the present study was a data collection sheet that included the Helkimo index and the informed consent form. Among the most important results found. The opening ≥40mm was the most frequent with 73.9%, followed by 30 to 39 mm with 25% and <30mm with 1.1%. The right lateral mandibular movement of 4 to 6mm was the most frequent with 44.1%, followed by ≥07mm with 40.8% and 0 to 3mm with 15.1%. The left-hand mandibular movement of 4 to 6mm was the most frequent with 45.6%, followed by ≥07mm with 35.3% and 0- 3mm with 19.1%. The maxillary mandibular movement of 4 to 6mm was the most frequent with 56.6%, followed by ≥07mm with 30.9% and 0-3mm with 12.5%. In the mandibular movement moderate deterioration was the most frequent with 51.5%, followed by severe deterioration with 29.8% and the normal state with 18.8%. The joints with noises and / or deviations were the most frequent with 74.3%; Followed by articulations without noises or deviations with 24.6% and obstruction or dislocation with 1.1%. Muscle status without tenderness was the most frequent with 74.3%; Followed by sensitivity in ≤3 areas with 25.7%. The most frequent temporomandibular joint condition was without tenderness with 62.5%; Followed by unilateral or bilateral sensitivity with 29.8% and posterior unilateral or bilateral sensitivity with 7.7%. Temporomandibular joint without pain to the movement were 75.7%; Followed by pain in one movement with 15.1% and pain in two or more movements with 9.2%. In the general evaluation Temporomandibular Joint with moderate deterioration were the most frequent with 62.9%; Followed by normal function with 22.8% and severe deterioration with 14.3%. The normal mandibular movement was more frequent in the younger age groups, the group of 19 to 29 years 8.8%, 30 to 39 years of age 5.5%; Moderate impairment was more frequent in the intermediate groups of 40 to 49 years 12.1% and 50 to 59 with 11%; Severe deterioration was more frequent in the older groups 50 to 59 years old with 8.10% and 60% more with 8.5%. The normal function of the TMJ was more frequent in the younger age groups, the group of 19 to 29 years old 8.8%, 30 to 39 years old 6.6%; Moderate impairment was more frequent in the intermediate groups of 40 to 49 years 12.5% and 50 to 59 with 15.1%; Severe deterioration was more frequent in the older 50- 59 age groups with 3.3% and 60% higher with 5.9%. There is a relationship between the age group and mandibular movement. There is a relationship between the age group and the temporomandibular joint function.
