The work was carried out in the Vochysia lomatophylla Quillosisa and Ormosia coccinea Huayruro plantations; both located within the CIEFOR facilities of the Faculty of Forest Sciences of UNAP, to determine survival, mortality, magnitude of damage; collection and identification of insects that are harming trees; to finally compare the damages in both plantations. Each of the plantations has an area of 0.1 ha; in the Quillosisa plantation 119 individuals were planted with a distance of 3.00 m by 3.00 m; 32 individuals survive representing 26.89% and a mortality of 87 individuals, which represents 73.11%; 250 individuals were planted at the Huayruro plantation with a distance of 2.00 m by 2.00 m; 28 individuals survive, representing 11.20% survival and there is a mortality of 222 individuals representing 88.80%. The average of damages in the plantation of Huayruro is of Regular with tendency to Severe; while in the one of Quillosisa, the average is of Slight with tendency to Regular. From the collection and identification of the insects present in both plantations, more individuals of Termites (Family Termitidae) were found; in second order, large black ants (Family Formicidae). By comparing the damages and the existing mortality, it can be determined that in the Huayruro plantation the damage by insects is more severe than in those of Quillosisa.
