The Laboratory of 'Investigación de Productos Naturales Antiparasitarios de la Amazonia' (LIPNAA) conducts interdisciplinary research and inter-seeking, obtaining and evaluating new antimalarial agents from natural origin, immunology and genetics of malaria for the creation of a native strain bank Plasmodium falciparum parasites and other research in endemic origin. lt consists of four laboratories, which perform their functions described through projects designed to accomplish its purpose. Currently, LIPNAA relies on a database designed in Microsoft® Office Excel, where they have registered biological specimens, donor information and the tracking of crop strains of malaria, having as main problem the lack of a software tool that to facilitate access to this information quickly and timely to your target audience. On this basis it was decided to develop a solution under the platform. NET to automate development methodology taking as the Rational Unified Process (RUP), building modeling language Unified Modeling Language notation (UML). The computer system designed covers control of donors, serology, biological samples, strains and monitoring of their cultivation of strains of malaria. These processes fall within the bioassay laboratory and molecular biology. After tests conducted by users, it was concluded that the Laboratory Management System for LIPNAA improve their processes rapidly, and that the consolidation of information recorded in a central database, your system will post system installation. Finally, we recommend the continued use of Laboratory Management System, required for printing formats of serological testing and monitoring processes of the laboratories of Bioassay and Molecular Biology.
