The present investigation had as objective the interrelation of 14 species of diurnal butterflies with their food plants in natural conditions, in the forests of the Allpahuayo - Mishana Research Center and the Peasant Community of San Rafael, department of Loreto, Peru. There are reported 24 species of plants, which 2 are hybrids of angiosperms used by the studied butterflies, from which 17 species of plants are reported as larval hosts and 3 nectarifers for the feeding of adults; 4 frugifers and 1 resiniferous. From the 17 species of host plants that use the larvae, 8 species are lianas and herbaceous, 7 arboreal and 2 shrubby. 57.1% of the butterflies in the larval stage are oligophagous, 35.7% are polyphagous and 7.1% have a monophagous habit. The families of plants most used by the butterflies in the larval stage were Solanaceae, Passifloraceae, Fabaceae and Aristolochiaceae.
