From January to November 2013, the present study was carried out at the Allpahuayo Research Center; with the purpose of determining some eco-ethological aspects of Saimiri macrodon. The behavioral activities, use of the vertical layer of the forest and characterization of the sleeping trees, were recorded using the ethological techniques of Scan Sampling and Instant Sampling. During the study, Saimiri macrodon used a residential area of 87.3 hectares to carry out his behavioral activities. Among the most frequent activities, locomotion, foraging, feeding and the rest of the activities were recorded in lesser proportions; while among the vertical layers of the forest, the middle canopy was used, followed by the lower and upper canopy. This species of primate feeds on 28 varieties of plants, grouped into 18 families; resulting Moraceae and Anacardiaceae among the most important families. All the fruits consumed were ripe and the mesocarp was the most consumed part. Saimirí macrodon used 2 species of palm trees as roosts, Astrocaryum murumuru "huicungo" and Oenocarpus bataua "ungurahui". Of these species the first was the most used. By eating seeds as part of their diet, it can be stated that this species of primate can contribute to the regeneration and maintenance of Amazonian forests.
