The purpose was to compare the volues of the 8 componets smile, according to Roy Sabri, concurring to gender in students from 3rd to 5th cycle of the faculty of Dentistry, UNAP, 2015. The research was quantitative; the desing was comaparative desciptive, tranversal. The sample consisted of 72 students fom 3 to 5 cycles of the faculty of dentistry, UNAP. The results were: The upper lip lenght ranges trom 18 mm to 26 mm, thee most prevalent was 22 mm with 30.6%, followed by 21 mm with 20.8% ; the shortest lip measured 18 mm with 1.4%. The elevation of the upper lip varied beiween 7 mm and 20 mm, the mast prevalent was 12mm with 25 %. The Crown height varied between 8 mm and 12 mm, the mast prevalent was 10 mm with 31.9% followed with 11 mm and 12mm with 20.8% each.91.7% had o normal inclination, 8.3% presented vesibular inclination of the incisors. The81.9% had a consonant smile, 18.1% had a non – cosonant smille. The 62.5% had a curved lip straight, 27,8 % an upward curve and 9.7% a downward curve. The 69.4% not present negative side space. The 77.8 % had a symmetrical smile 22.2% had o non-symmetrical smile.The 88.9% had a normal occlusal plane 11.1% present canting. The 87.5% had aligned anterior leeth, 12.5% presented them unaligned. The 68.1% had midline alignment with mismatched, 31.9% was coincidental. The 98.6% had a normal gingival component. There is a relationship between sex and length of the upper lip. There is a relationship between sex and the presence of negative side space.
